The Meadow Street Community Garden, based in Pontypridd (CF37), project brought together art, design, and community engagement to enhance a shared green space.

 

My contributions included:

• Mural Creations: Designed and painted vibrant, site-specific murals reflecting themes of nature, growth, and community. These murals added colour, identity, and visual interest to the garden’s surroundings.

• Garden Design: Developed a sustainable garden layout that includes a sensory garden, focusing on engaging all five senses through thoughtful planting and materials. The overall design emphasizes native species, accessibility, and aesthetic flow—promoting biodiversity and creating a welcoming space for all ages and abilities.

• Site Map Creation: Illustrated a clear, easy-to-navigate site map to guide visitors and highlight garden features. The map balances functionality with artistic detail, enhancing both orientation and visual appeal. A nature trail map was was also created to identify where hidden posts are around the woodland area.

This multidisciplinary approach helped transform Meadow Street Community Garden into a lively, inclusive space that celebrates creativity, community, and connection with nature.
